Robinson House - Takaungu Creek (Kilifi)
A unique property, set on a high cliff overlooking the secluded beauty of Takaungu Creek, just 5kms South of Kilifi town.
Set in two acres of Kilifi Plantation, the two eco-bandas (huts) have been designed to take advantage of the natural beauty of their surroundings. The high makuti roofs combined with the sea breeze create a natural form of air-conditioning. Each building functions as a self-sufficient unit, generating its own water and energy through rainwater harvesting and filtration, solar water-heating and photovoltaic electricity. Sewage is treated by using composting systems, and plant beds purify the grey water. There is no problem with waste water, as the treatment systems used produce fertilizer and irrigation for gardening
